My birthday celebration with Jeannie and SY

An excuse to eat more :p

We arrived here around 12 pm noon for brunch.

Nice and cozy cafe since the moment I walk up from the staircase and enter the cafe.

Complimentary Bread with Balsamic & Olive oil

The bread served here are not warm.

But I think it's alright. Its pretty fresh.

I was hoping for more balsamic though....

Truffle Scented Wild Mushroom Soup - RM14

Simple and good. It's not those creamy type.

Like the hint of truffle scent ^^... 

Good one to warm your stomach before moving on...

Appetizer - 

Smoked Duck with Quail Egg Salad RM20

We wanted the 2 way crab, but it wasn't available.

This is not bad anyway, 

the combination of smoked duck, quail egg and crispy apple were just fine. 

Main:

Braised Lamb Shank with Cumin Paprika Mash

RM45

A big let down. 

Broccoli was over-cooked, lamb shank was dry, can't really taste the cumin and paprika... and we thought the gravy could be more as the whole thing makes our throat dry when we are eating halfway...

Homemade Salmon Burger with add Egg RM31

Taste were alright ( Burgerlab's burgers are better :p)

We ordered the burger without cheese, as Jeannie doesn't take cheese.

Unfortunately, the burger came with cheese :(

Soft Shell Crab & Seafood Linguine Miso-Cabonara RM35

What a interesting combination when we first saw it from the menu.

and even the presentation was awesome, 

We got excited with the idea of having bonito flakes on top 

and they looks like they are "dancing" on the linguine.

Taste = um... I am not sure... the first few bite were alright,

but it gets a bit weird as we continue... and the soft shell crab is oily ...

Flat White = GOOD!

Tofu Cheesecake with Vanilla Ice Cream

We wanted to Chocolate Vocano... sadly, N/A

Nothing to shout out about for their tofu cheesecake.

Too sweet for our liking.

We prefer POCO or En Ginza's version... 

Conclusion:

Hits and misses...

I guess I will come back for a cuppa...

Food wise... I think there are much more better options nearby.
